Saint Valentine’s Day as we know it, with its associations to romantic love, has been celebrated in much the same way since the 15th Century – with lovers presenting flowers, confectionary and greeting cards or ‘valentines’ to one another.

Not ones to break with tradition, the Melrose and Morgan team have been hard at work preparing handmade gifts in order that we might help spread, at the very least a deep love of chocolate, amongst our customers.

This year you will find:

Chocolate and Cherry Tarts - dark chocolate mousse tarts baked with Kirsch soaked Griottines cherries, topped with chocolate ganache and marzipan hearts, £2.75 each.

Chocolate Shortbread Hearts - all butter vanilla shortbread biscuits dipped in dark chocolate, £3.50 for a box of six.

Jammy Dodger Hearts - all butter vanilla shortbread sandwiches with a raspberry jam heart. Dusted with icing sugar and £5.95 for a box of six.

As usual, we are also stocking handmade chocolates from Madame Oiseau, including Chocolate Heart Lolipops in pink, milk and dark chocolate, £2.50 each and Salted Caramel Hearts, £7.95/box. As well as Rococo’s beautifully boxed Chocolate Hearts, £10, Marc de Champagne Rose Truffles, £15.95 and Popping Raspberry White Chocolate Hearts, £7.95.
