High Summer
July means sunshine. It’s official. We demand it. Luckily, the weather reports are looking up and from the turn of the month it appears that we can finally get our sun hats on, crack open a bottle of chilled rose and say, ‘It’s Summer’.
High summer means the best of our abundant fresh British produce; rainbow chard, courgettes, peas, broad beans, cos, mini gem, red oak lettuces and sweet wet garlic, all from Chegworth Valley, will be gracing our shelves and making their way into salads and soups.
Plus we’ve got new season heritage tomatoes to sit alongside our cocktail vines and red and golden mini plums from the Tomato Stall on the Isle of Wight.
And, what would Summer be without soft fruit – look out for peaches, flat peaches and nectarines, raspberries, gooseberries and English cherries.
Summer Tabouleh and Panzanella will be bursting with colour on our table and little Raspberry Tarts, Mini Summer Fruit Pavlovas and Gooseberry Fools will be urging you to find room in your shopping basket – the perfect way to end summery suppers al fresco.
